Do I need unlimited data?
It depends on how much you use. In 2025 the average UK mobile data user got through 11.8GB a month, well below what unlimited plans offer. Check your network's app or bill for your use over the last three months.
Unlimited can suit you if you regularly use a lot of data away from wifi, or use your phone as a hotspot for other devices. Before you choose, compare the unlimited price with the "Over 100GB" plan on the same network:

What to check
- How much data did you use in the last three months?
- Does the plan limit speed, tethering or roaming?
- Will the price go up during the contract, and by how much?
- Is the signal good where you live and work?
